The redevelopment project of Larvotto promises to transform this iconic site in Monaco with modernised commercial and public spaces.
An Architectural and Environmental Transformation
Under the supervision of AODA – Agence Olivier Deverini Architectes and landscape architect Michel Desvigne, Larvotto is being given a new configuration. This redesign, part of the offshore extension, aims to improve beach protection through the installation of breakwaters between the existing dikes while preserving the posidonia seagrass meadows. The project also offers more attractive commercial spaces with a contemporary and streamlined architectural style. Public spaces will be expanded, totalling over 15,000 m² along the upper promenade, including shaded areas, tree clusters, a children’s playground, and a cycling path of over one kilometre.
Innovation and Sustainability at the Heart of the Project
The “Larvotto 2022” project stands out for its ambitious environmental goals: optimised energy performance for commercial spaces, low-consumption public lighting management, installation of charging stations for electric bicycles, and optimisation of water and waste management. A photovoltaic pergola will produce around 120 MWh per year, covering more than 80% of the public lighting needs. A technical gallery will ensure the transportation of a thalasso-thermal loop for heating and air conditioning in the area.
Modernised Shops and a New Offering
Iconic Larvotto establishments such as La Rose des Vents, Le Neptune, La Note Bleue, Le Miami, and many others will relocate to new premises. After the summer, seven new shops will enhance the commercial offering, providing residents and visitors with a vibrant shopping area throughout the year.
